Laurie Clark

Dr. Laurie Clark is a Clinical Psychologist and clinical investigator with the Centre for Healthy Active Living (CHAL) at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, where she works with an interdisciplinary team to help children, youth and their families achieve their best health. Her areas of clinical expertise include pediatric obesity, eating disorders, and body image difficulties, as well as metabolic disorders, health psychology, and common childhood mental health disorders and difficulties. Laurie has contributed to the development of key clinical tools, including the 5As of Pediatric Weight Management and the Edmonton Obesity Staging System for Pediatrics (EOSS-P). She is actively involved in multiple research and program evaluation initiatives within the CHAL unit. Laurie is also involved in healthcare education and training, contributing to initiatives such as the Meant2Prevent Initiative, the International Coalition to Improve Training in Obesity Care, and the Ontario Pediatric Bariatric Network. She is deeply committed to reducing weight bias and stigma, advancing public understanding of weight science, and promoting evidence-informed approaches to weight management.
